Addressing the Needs of Our Local Communities
“Due to the coronavirus pandemic’s decimation of the labor market and the months-long expiration of benefits from the government relief package keeping families afloat, the poverty rate in the United States surged from 9.3% in June to 11.7% in November, according to reports by analysts at the University of Chicago and the University of Notre Dame, creating the biggest increase in a single year.”
In addition to delivering emergency aid around the world, United Hands Relief also helps the poorest of the poor and brings relief to disaster victims locally and nationwide. To honor UHR’s Dallas-Fort Worth community, UHR expanded its local programs to help low-income families, refugees, and the homeless within the local community by establishing a 5,000sqft processing center in Arlington, Texas.
Give. Volunteer. Support.
Today, UHR accepts monetary donations, as well as product donations of misprinted, slightly damaged, over-stocked, or gently used supplies from individuals, organizations, and corporations nationwide.
With the help of our dedicated volunteers, product donations are sorted at our processing center, so they are ready to be shipped for immediate distribution. Locals in need can call and schedule an appointment to visit the center and pick up the items they need.
With the support of individual donors and corporations, UHR maintains its facility with products and resources that are then passed on to individuals in need and distributed during disaster situations
Volunteers Are Key
Volunteers play an essential role in the work of United Hands Relief. The donated goods we receive are sorted, counted, packaged and put on shelves for distribution by our volunteers.
