Suleiman Alghanem President & CEO
Suleiman Alghanem is the President & Chief Executive Officer of United Hands for Relief and Development (UHR). Suleiman was born and raised in the city of Ramtha, Jordan, where he finished his high school education. He traveled to the U.S. in 1982 to continue his higher education in Business Administration and Management. Suleiman has been a valued member of the Dallas-Fort Worth community and is an active member of the Muslim community. He also served as a board member at the Islamic Society of Arlington, Texas, since its establishment in 1983. Suleiman has always been passionate about providing humanitarian relief and has worked tirelessly in the field since 2007. He spends his time both in the office and out in the field, constantly making sure that the day-to-day operations are running smoothly, building relationships in the community and striving diligently to make UHR the best it can be. Suleiman laid the foundations of UHR in 2018 and brings his longstanding years of experience in charity and relief endeavors to the organization. He is happily married and a proud father of four children.
Dr. Omar Shahin Vice President
Omar Ahmed Shahin is a Fellow of the Graduate Theological Foundation, Director of Islamic Studies, and Ibn Taymiyya Professor of Islamic Law. He is also Secretary of the Board of Trustees of the North American Imams Federation. He holds the High Diploma from Jordan University and degrees in Islamic Studies from Islamic University in Almedina Almonwara, Saudi Arabia, and Sudan. He is licensed to practice jurisprudence law as an Islamic Attorney in the courts of Amman, Jordan. Imam Shahin holds both the Master of Theology and the Doctor of Philosophy from the GTF. Dr. Shahin also holds the Doctor of Laws degree honoris causa from the GTF.
Sara A. Director of Programs
Sara was born and raised in the United Arab Emirates and moved to Texas in the summer of 2007. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Banking, Finance and E-commerce, as well as a master’s degree in Electronic Commerce from the University of Surrey in Guildford, England. Sara is a trained project management professional with more than 15 years of experience. As the Director of Programs at UHR, Sara’s mission is to contribute her skills to benefit those in need around the world. She is happily married for more than 12 years and has twin daughters.
